1. How long does resurfacing last?

With proper preparation and care a resurfaced bathtub, shower, counter top, or cabinet should last for years without any fading, peeling , or discoloration. Almost all of the resurfacing done by AR is under warranty for a full 3 years to guarantee that if your tub or countertop is maintained properly then our work will last longer than any of our competitors.

2. Why is resurfacing better than replacing?

There are many reasons that resurfacing is considered by us and many others to be better than replacing. One of the main reasons being the expense is a fraction of replacing. In many instances the expense of removing old counter tops or showers/bathtubs alone is more than it would cost to simply resurface the whole thing. Removing old tubs and counters can be rather difficult and extremely messy, and often cause more damage to the areas they are in that will then have to be repaired as well. Resurfacing is a cleaner, faster, less expensive way to take an old, damaged outdated feature and make it new again.

3. How long does it take to resurface something vs. replacing it?

Each job will vary in the exact length of time that it takes to finish, but on average resurfacing will take considerably less time than replacing will. For example a typical bathtub and wall surround can be resurfaced beginning to end in about 2 hours. This same tub and surround having to be torn out and a new one installed, plumbed, and painted and caulked around can take upwards of an entire day to finish.

4. What type of countertops can be resurfaced?

There are a number of different types of countertop surfaces that can be resurfaced. The most common type is laminate or formica counters. We are also able to resurface tile, porcelain, cultured marble, and quartz among other surfaces. 5. What type of bathtubs and showers can be resurfaced?

The most common types of bathtubs and showers that we encounter are fiberglass and porcelain. We have also done tile, plastic, and cast iron as well. We can do minor or major repairs in any of these materials. If you have something you don’t see mentioned here, that you want resurfaced, just ask us and there is a good chance we can help.

6. Can I just resurface my own counters or tub and save even more money?

While it may seem to be less expensive to buy paint from a store and resurface the job yourself, you will very quickly find that you get what you pay for. With store bought materials you are dealing with an inferior product that will not last as long as our materials and will also not have a 3 yr warranty to fall back on once it does. In the long run it may end up costing more when it does not fix the problem and you are forced to remove the old product and redo the work again. Another benefit to a professional doing the work is that AR employs extensively trained technicians who are very experienced in performing repairs and creating a nice, even, run free, like new finish when completed, and once again will guarantee it!
